To answer this question, you the reader has to understand something about Sound Systems.
It doesn’t matter how many speakers you have, how big they are or how many amps you have, it’s all about matching your amps to your speakers. If you push an amp beyond it’s capability, it will clip. Distortion is not your friend and is unacceptable!
Every Sound System has limits, just like cars. If you push a car too hard, the engine won’t last long.
The end goal is to achieve a level of sound that meets or exceeds your expectations and to do this is really not difficult, you just need to purchase the right size speakers that are efficient (take the least amount of power to push good sound) and use an amplifier or amplifiers that have at least 2 to 3 times more power than the power rating of your speakers. This allows the amps to power your speakers without being pushed to the max. Just like an automobile, if you have enough horsepower, amongst other things, you can cruise at higher speeds for prolonged periods of time without pushing the engine to the max. If you have to hold the pedal to the floor to maintain the speed limit, don’t expect good fuel mileage or your engine to last. If you can push it just a little and maintain highway speed, it’s not working hard and you can cruise all day and not worry about the engine blowing up.
A Sound System is very similar when it comes to reaching your goal.
To sum it up, when we say Rockin’ at the Redline, we mean pushing our system to the highest level we can without clipping and maintaining tight bass you can feel and sound that’s as clear as it can be!
